Sure Foundation will provide affordable quality housing to underprivileged individuals. Those individuals that we will be targeting to help include seniors, veterans, low income individuals, those that suffer from physical or mental disabilities, those that need emergency housing, and felons who have trouble finding housing.
The number of senior citizens is increasing at a faster rate today then has ever been seen in our country’s history. According to the United States Census Bureau, 3.5 million people age 65 and older live below the poverty line.
There are an increasing number of veterans that are homeless. A large number of veterans deal with the debilitating effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. Sure Foundations will work to partner with Veteran organizations to develop housing solutions for at-risk veterans.
Families who pay more than 30 percent of their income for housing may have difficulties affording necessities like food, clothing, transportation, and medical care. It is estimated that over 12 million households pay more than 50 percent of their annual income for housing. Sure Foundations will work with local organizations to help families to receive quality housing based a reasonable percentage of their incomes.
At times people find themselves without housing due to situations outside of their control. This could be due to environmental factors like fire, flood, etc. or financial problems. Sure Foundations will work to offer temporary housing to families that are dealing with these emergency situations.
Finally, felons are rejected by many landlords due to their past. Sure Foundations will work with the T.E.B.R.A. program to create affordable quality housing options available to many individuals that would otherwise not have the opportunity to have the level of housing we could offer.
